Mississippi sports betting handle decreases in June

The state’s sports betting handle was down 6.8 year-over-year.

US.- The Mississippi Gaming Commission (MGC) has reported that the state’s sports betting handle was $18.1m in June, down 6.8 year-over-year and down 20 per cent from May. Taxable revenue totalled $2.7m.

The coastal region represented more than half of the total handle at $11.1m. The Central region generated $4.7m and the Northern region $2.2m.

In the Coastal region, baseball was the most popular sport with $4m in bets, followed by parlay cards with $1.8m and basketball with $1.7m. Taxes in the region totalled $1.5m.

In the Central region, parlay cards registered $1.9m, baseball $1.7m and basketball $997,557 in bets. Taxes totalled 851,464. In the Northern region, parlay cards registered $874,953 in bets, baseball $631,080, basketball $558,112 and football $28.700. Taxes totalled $358,656.
