Mississippi sports betting handle decreases in May

The handle was down 16.3 per cent year-over-year.

US.- The Mississippi Gaming Commission (MGC) has reported that the state’s sports betting handle totalled $22.6m in May. That’s a drop of 16.3 per cent year-over-year and 9.3 per cent from April 2025. Taxable revenue totalled $3.4m.

The coastal region represented more than half of the total handle at $14.3m. The Central region generated $5.7m and the Northern region $2.6m.

In the Coastal region, basketball was the most popular sport with $4m in bets, followed by baseball with $3.7m and parlay cards with $2.5m. Football generated $31,710. Taxes totalled $1.8m.

In the Central region, parlay cards totalled $2.5m, basketball $1.9m, baseball $1m and football $9,367. Taxes totalled $1.1m. In the Northern region, parlay cards totalled $1m, basketball $699,407, and baseball $665,681. Taxes totalled $396,306.
