Michigan regulator orders more unlicensed online casinos to cease operations

The MGCB has issued cease-and-desist letters.

US.- The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has ordered six unlicensed online casinos to cease offering gambling to residents in the state. Cease-and-desist letters were issued to Fortune Horizon Casino, Goat Spins Casino, High Roller Casino, Slots.lv, True Fortune Casino, and Vegas Gems Casino.

The MGCB has told them to stop targeting Michigan immediately. Those that fail to comply could face legal action in coordination with the Michigan Department of Attorney General. Last week, the regulator issued cease-and-desist letters to eight unlicensed online gambling operators.

Henry Williams, MGCB executive director, said: “These sites try to attract players with flashy ads and promises of big wins, but the reality is far riskier: no oversight, no consumer protections, and no guarantee you’ll ever see your money again. Michigan law is clear—if you want to operate here, you must be licensed. We will continue to hold illegal operators accountable and protect Michigan residents from predatory, unregulated gambling.

“Illegal operators often copy familiar names or logos to trick people. We want Michiganders to know how to protect themselves and where to find legitimate, safe entertainment.”

Michigan igaming revenue increases in August

According to the MGCB, the online sports betting handle was $338.9m, up 19.9 per cent sequentially and 20.99 per cent year-on-year.
