MGM tops Maryland’s casino market

National Harbor generated 40 per cent of the total gaming revenue generated by the state’s six casinos.

US.- Maryland’s six casinos generated US$145.4 million in revenue during April’s operations, a 5.7 per cent increase from the total registered in April 2017. MGM National Harbor generated 40 per cent of that revenue, becoming once again the leader of the state with US$57.7 million.

Ever since the facility opened in late 2016, MGM National Harbor has topped Maryland’s market several times. April operations saw the casino hold 40 per cent of the total gaming revenue generated by all six casinos in the state. Maryland Lottery and Gaming said that the total gaming revenue was US$57.7 million, approximately 15.6 per cent more than in April 2017.

Live! Casino totalled US$46.8 million from both slot machines and table games. Gross gaming revenue (GGR) per unit per day was US$260 for slot machines and US$3.4k for banked table games. Revenue increased US$1.4 million, or 3.3 per cent from April 2017.

Hollywood Casino Perryville generates US$6.9 million in revenue, up 7.3 per cent, Ocean Downs had US$5.5 million, a 14.8 per cent increase, while Rocky Gap Resort generated US$4.7 million in April, a 2.8 per cent increase when compared to the same period last year.

Horseshoe Casino Baltimore generated US$21 million from both slot machines and table games and was the only facility in the state that posted a revenue fall of US$468k, 7.3 per cent from April 2017.
