MGM pulls down shutters at Las Vegas buffets
Casino operator to close buffet restaurants at its seven Las Vegas properties as part of efforts to halt the spread of Coronavirus.
USA.- MGM Resorts has announced that it will temporarily close buffet restaurants at all of its Las Vegas properties as part of efforts to stop the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
Buffets at seven properties, including MGM Grand, the Bellagio, ARIA and Mandalay Bay will be shuttered. Casino management will review the decision on a weekly basis moving forwards.
“MGM Resorts will temporarily close buffets at ARIA, Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Luxor and Excalibur, effective Sunday, March 15,” the firm explained in a statement.
“All employees will work directly with MGM’s Labor Relations department to assist with any employment changes, transitions or questions as part of the temporary Buffet closure process.”
MGM has also ramped up cleaning and sanitation efforts, including the frequency of disinfectant procedures on items such as faucets, slot machine handles, toilet flush levers, doorknobs and locks as well as anything guests’ hands might be touching at their casinos and resorts.
