The company brought together its data protection leads for an international workshop focused on challenges such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and risk management, reaffirming its commitment to responsible data protection.

Press release.- A group of 25 data protection coordinators from the Merkur Group recently came together for an international workshop at Benkhausen Castle. The aim was to keep up to date with current developments in the field of data protection and to develop common positions.

Ludwig Beckmann, chief privacy officer of the Merkur Group, explained: “The exchange with colleagues is an important building block for responsible data protection. We benefit from the perspectives of others and can develop solutions together.”

The workshop focused primarily on the topic of artificial intelligence. However, the focus was also on considerations in the areas of cybercrime and the Cyber Security Act, dealing with requests from affected parties and risk management. The central data protection department invited internal experts to give keynote speeches.

The workshop offered participants a valuable platform for exchanging ideas and further developing data protection topics, and once again highlighted the importance of data protection both within the digital world and within the Merkur Group with its customers and gaming guests. This importance underlines the need to enable synergies within the Group and to consistently optimise the concerns surrounding this sensitive area.
