Massachusetts gaming revenue decreases in December
Revenue decreased 4.2 per cent year-over-year.
US.- The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) has reported that Plainridge Park Casino (PPC), MGM Springfield (MGM) and Encore Boston Harbor (EBH) generated $97.9m in gross gaming revenue (GGR). That’s a decrease of 4.2 per cent from the same month in 2024.
The seven online sports wagering licensees and the three in-person licensees generated $98.5m in taxable sports wagering revenue (TSWR). Tax totalled $27.9m.
Encore Boston Harbor led the market with $61.8m in GGR: $24.8m from table games and $37m from slots. MGM Springfield posted $21.9m: $3.6m from table games and $18.3m from slots, and Plainridge Park Casino took $14.1m from slots.
According to the report, the sports betting handle was $845.2m. Of the total, $833.6m was bet online and $11.7m at casinos. Taxable revenue was $98.5m.
Recently, the MGC fined Fanatics $20,000 for accepting bets on an in-state college football team.
