Massachusetts Gaming Commission reports full-year sports betting results
Nearly $755m was generated in gross gaming revenue.
US.- The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) has reported results for fiscal year 2025, showing figures for the third year of sports wagering in the Commonwealth. Between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, nearly $755m was generated in gross gaming revenue (GGR) from 1.83m active accounts.
According to the report, tax revenue was $150.7m, along with $204,400 in intercepts from the Department of Revenue and child support programmes. Super Bowl LIX saw $12.2m in GGR, while Massachusetts collected $2.4m in taxes from the 44.6m wagers placed on the game.
The Commission stated: “Massachusetts remains committed to player health. This year over 1.1 million users utilised play management tools offered by the sports wagering licensees, with 829,700 using play management limits, and 293,400 taking advantage of the ‘cool-off’ programme. In total, there were 2.5 million inquiries related to play management tools and player health, reflecting growing awareness and use of these programmes.”
The regulator added that more than 1,200 residents took up jobs linked to sports betting, including 380 women and 221 minorities. Operators reportedly spent $190m with vendors and suppliers, contributing to the Commonwealth’s economy.
In January 2026, Plainridge Park Casino (PPC), MGM Springfield (MGM), and Encore Boston Harbor (EBH) generated $96.6m in GGR. That’s a decrease of 1.4 per cent from the same month in 2025. Encore Boston Harbor led the market with $59.7m in GGR: $22m from table games and $37.6m from slots.
