Maryland sports betting handle rises in March

The handle increased 2.8 per cent year-on-year.

US.- Maryland Lottery and Gaming has reported that the sports betting handle in the state was $604.7m in March. That’s up 2.8 per cent year-on-year and an increase from February’s $515.6m.

According to the report, $595.2m was bet online and $9.5m at retail locations. Winnings were $542m, with operators holding 10.4 per cent of the handle.

The sports betting market generated $8.8m in contributions to the state. Some $6.6m went to the Blueprint Fund, while $2.2m in mobile proceeds went to the General Fund.

The six casinos in the state generated a combined $168.1m in revenue from slot machines and table games. That’s a decrease of 2.3 per cent year-on-year but a rise from February ($148.5m).
