Construction of Martha’s Vineyard gaming hall to start in March

The tribe in charge of building the gambling hall on the resort island of Martha’s Vineyard said construction will start next month.

US.- The Massachusetts tribe Aquinnah Wampanoags revealed that construction for a gambling hall on the resort island of Martha’s Vineyard is expected to start next month. Williams Building Company of Hyannis has been chosen as general contractor for the project.

The 10,000 square-foot facility is expected to feature 250 electronic gaming machines and employ 100 full and part-time employees when operating. The tribe already explained that there won’t be any casino table games (not card games nor roulette) at the venue. Construction is expected to take approximately six months to complete, and site preparation has already started this month.

When announcing the initiative in August 2018, Aquinnah Wampanoag Chairwoman Cheryl Andrews-Maltais praised the Chickasaw Nation by branding it as one of the nation’s most financially sound tribes and said its Global Gaming Solutions has helped develop more than thirty casinos.
