Maltese and Dutch regulators enter MoU
The Malta Gaming Authority and The Netherlands’ Kansspelautoriteit will work together to tackle illegal activity.
The Netherlands.- The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and Dutch regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on tackling illegal activity in their respective markets.
The two authorities have agreed to share information and best practice and to discuss policy in a bid to clamp down on gambling-related criminal activities.
The two regulators said the collaboration would help boost transparency in both jurisdictions.
They said they would also aim to work together on initiatives on protection from gambling-related harm
KSA Chairman René Jansen said: “These MoUs are a solid basis to share knowledge, to cooperate and to smoothly exchange information.
“At the same time operators will be receiving a clear signal that hands of regulators will be joined internationally.”
The MGA has agreements in place with several regulators and other bodies, including sporting authorities.
MGA Chief Executive Heathcliff Farrugia said: “Our relationship and cooperation with Kansspelautoriteit has already yielded tangible results in the past, and with this MoU, apart from formalising such a relationship, a stronger collaboration at an international level is also ensured.”
