Louisiana mobile sports betting records 3.4m transactions in first weekend
According to Geocomply, the number of unique players in the first 36 hours represented 3.6 per cent of the state’s adult population.
US.- Louisiana’s mobile sports betting market registered more than 3.4m geolocation transactions in its opening weekend, according to GeoComply. The firm monitored Louisiana´s betting activity from its launch on January 28 until January 30.
During the first 36 hours of online sports betting, the number of unique players represented 3.6 per cent of the state’s adult population. That surpasses New York, where the number of unique players on the its opening weekend represented 3.3 per cent of the adult population.
Close to 70 per cent of bets occurred in the southeastern part of Louisiana. The state ranked number eight in terms of transaction volumes for the weekend, ahead of Indiana, Tennessee, Colorado, and Connecticut.
Geolocation transactions are not equivalent to total wagers but serve as an indicator of market activity.
Louisiana’s mobile sports betting market opened on January 28, when DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and other operators started accepting mobile wagers. Sports betting at land-based casinos launched in October.
