Louisiana gaming revenue rises in December

Revenue was up 15.2 per cent year-on-year.

US.- The Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB) has reported that revenue from land-based casinos, riverboats, video gaming, and sports betting reached $348.6m in December. That’s a rise of 11.5 per cent from the same month in 2024 and a rise of 4.7 per cent sequentially.

Riverboat casinos reported $167.8m in revenue, up 10.6 per cent year-on-year and 9.9 per cent compared to November. Golden Nugget Lake Charles led the market with over $28.8m, an increase of 4.8 per cent year-on-year. It was followed by L’Auberge Lake Charles, up 10.1 per cent year-on-year to $28.1m. L’Auberge Baton Rouge reported $2m, up 12.9 per cent.

Caesars New Orleans, the only land-based casino hotel in Louisiana, posted gross gaming revenue (GGR) of $28.6m. That’s an increase of 12.7 per cent year-on-year and a decrease of 8 per cent sequentially.

Slots at racetracks generated over $26.9m in adjusted gross revenue (AGR), an increase of 2 per cent year-on-year and of 8.7 per cent sequentially. Of this total, Delta Downs accounted for $14.3m, up 7.4 per cent when compared to December 2024. Evangeline Downs saw a slight drop in revenue in year-on-year terms to $6.6m. Fair Grounds’ revenue was down 6.9 per cent year-on-year to $3m.

In the sports betting market, mobile sports betting proceeds totalled $57.7m. While this was a slight dip from the $60.2m recorded in November, it was up 65 per cent in year-on-year terms. The mobile betting handle for the month reached $430.8m, with basketball and football being the primary contributors.

Video gaming operations also saw growth, with a total net win of $67.1m. That’s an increase of 4.9 per cent from November and 5.3 per cent in year-on-year terms. Truckstops continued to be the primary driver accounting for $48.9m of the total.
