Harrah’s in New Orleans, Boomtown Casino in Harvey, L’Auberge Baton Rouge, and Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City have been allowed to start taking bets.

US.- The Louisiana Gaming Control Board has issued its first four sports betting licences. Harrah’s in New Orleans, Boomtown Casino in Harvey, L’Auberge Baton Rouge and Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City received their licences to start handling sports wagering. The casinos were allowed to start taking sports bets from yesterday (October 31).

The four properties were the first ones to complete their compliance review with the Louisiana State Police’s Gaming Division. Thirteen of Louisiana’s twenty land-based casinos have applied for sports betting licences.

Louisiana’s first legal sportsbook opened at the Paragon Casino Resort in Marksville earlier this month. The casino is owned and operated by the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana. The sportsbook is being introduced through a partnership between the tribe and Betfred Sports.

The state’s second fantasy sports betting licence allowed Fanduel to launch operations after Draftkings was the first company to be authorised.
