Louisiana approves second licence for fantasy sports betting
This approval allows Fanduel to launch fantasy sports betting in the 47 parishes where voters authorised gaming in the state.
US.- The Louisiana Gaming Control Board has approved the state’s second fantasy sports betting licence allowing Fanduel to launch operations in the 47 parishes where voters authorised gaming in the November 2018 election. Draftkings was the first company to be authorised to launch fantasy sports betting in the state.
Gaming Control Board Commissioner Ronnie Johns said the licences would be issued soon but did not clarify when. FanDuel is one of the US’s largest fantasy sports companies, with operations up and running in 44 states.
Participants in Louisiana’s fantasy sports competitions must be at least 21 years old. The games will only be permitted in parishes where voters authorised it, but anybody will be able to log into the sites if they travel to those parishes.
