Loto-Québec reports record full-year revenue

The state-owned operator recorded net income of US$1.526bn in the fiscal year 2025-2026.

Canada.- The provincial lottery operator Loto-Québec has posted revenue of CAD$3.089bn (US$2.23bn) for the 2025–2026 fiscal year, exceeding CAD$3bn for the first time. When compared to the previous fiscal year, the figure was up 3.2 per cent. Consolidated net income reached C$1.526bn (US$1.1bn), an increase of 0.5 per cent in year-on-year terms.

Lottery product revenue amounted to CAD$995.6m (US$719.3m), an increase of 3.6 per cent year-on-year. Casino and gaming hall sector revenue was CAD$1.301bn (US$939.8m) and gaming establishment revenue CAD$814.5m (US$588.5m), up 8.3 per cent and down 4.5 per cent, respectively.

The lottery operator paid out CAD$1.914bn (US$1.382bn) in prizes during the year. The largest jackpot was a CAD$70m (US$50.6m) Lotto Max prize shared between a Montérégie resident and a Montréal resident in July.

“It is essential that Loto-Québec strengthen its position in online gaming, including sports betting, to ensure greater oversight and that the profits generated benefit the people of Québec. We’re promoting a responsible approach, aiming to capture the market rather than stimulate its growth.

“Our cornerstone real-estate projects—the addition of a hotel adjacent to the Casino de Montréal, new gaming halls in Rimouski and Saguenay, and the expansion of the Hôtel-Casino du Lac-Leamy conference centre—are part of our commitment to enhancing the experience we offer our customers and contributing to Québec’s economic and touristic vitality.”

Loto-Québec reported a payroll of CAD$442m (US$319.3m), paid CAD$324m (US$234.1m) in commissions to retail partners, contributed CAD$36m (US$26m) to problem gambling prevention and donated CAD$18m (US$13m) to non-profit organisations.
