Loto-Québec announces gaming hall opening in Saguenay

The project will transform the Delta Hotel and its convention centre into an entertainment destination.

Canada.- Loto-Québec has announced the opening of a new gaming hall in Saguenay, Quebec. The Delta Hotel and its convention centre will become an entertainment destination hosting the Saguenay Gaming Hall.

The new space will offer gaming, shows and other entertainment. The opening is expected within 18 months.

Several elected officials, including the Member of Parliament for Jonquière, Yannick Gagnon and the mayor of Saguenay Luc Boivin, as well as other stakeholders from the region participated in a conference to present the new project.

Loto-Québec said it continues its efforts to promote lower-risk gambling by reducing access to video lottery by grouping machines in a limited number of establishments.

Jean-François Bergeron, president and CEO of Loto-Québec, said: “We are proud to present this project in Saguenay, a dynamic region known for its welcoming character and development potential. Great Canadian Entertainment recently entered into a definitive agreement to sell Elements Casino Chilliwack to Ts’elxwéyeqw Group. It will provide transitional services and support for a period following closing.

The venue in the Fraser Valley region of British Columbia more than 300 slots, live and electronic table games, bingo, dining and live entertainment. The closing of the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and the receipt of regulatory and other approvals.
