Live! Casino Virginia opens recruitment centre
The company is looking to hire more than 500 employees for its temporary gaming venue.
US.- Live! Casino Virginia has opened a recruitment centre as it seeks more than 500 employees for its temporary gaming location in Petersburg. The venue is expected to open in January 2026.
The company is hiring for permanent roles in facilities, security, surveillance, slot technology, finance, cashiering, food and beverage, guest service and environmental services. It also needs to fill more than 100 table games dealer positions.
Penny Parayo, senior vice president and general manager of Live! Casino Virginia, said: “Right now, I’m just looking for people with great attitudes, that have a hospitality personality, and we will teach the rest of the technical skills.”
The Cordish Companies’ permanent Live! Casino & Hotel Resort is expected to follow in 2027. The property sits on a 100-acre site off Interstate 95 in Petersburg. It will feature a 75,000-square-foot of gaming space, with 900 slots, 33 live table games, a bar and a quick-service restaurant.
Temporary casino opens in Norfolk, Virginia
Boyd Gaming and the Pamunkey Tribe recently opened an interim gaming hall in Norfolk, Virginia, ahead of a $750m permanent casino expected to open in 2027. Located off Park Avenue, it’s the first gaming venue in Norfolk and the fourth casino in Virginia following those in Bristol, Portsmouth and Danville.
Ron Bailey, vice president and general manager of Norfolk Casino, said: “There are a lot of people who’ve never even set foot into a casino before. It’s about creating a casino experience for them that’s going to make them want to come back and enjoy their time when they’re gaming.”
