The poker room will be located on the second floor of the facility, adjacent to Sports & Social Steel City. The room was originally designated as a banquet facility that could be used for private meetings or special events.
The casino opened last year in the former Bon-Ton storefront in Hempfield’s Westmoreland Mall. It has 30 table games, 150 slot machines and restaurant and entertainment facilities.
General manager Sean Sullivan, said: “Our new poker room will be exciting and provide our guests with yet another reason to enjoy their time with us at Live! Casino.”
In preparation for opening, the casino is hosting a free poker dealer school that will begin at the casino’s school in the former Sears wing of the mall on Monday. Classes will run for six weeks Monday through Friday from 10am 2pm and 6pm to 10pm.
“Our free poker dealer school is an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to start a career in the fast-paced gaming industry,” Sullivan said. “Live! is proud to continue its investment in Westmoreland County through opportunities like the free poker dealer school for members in and around our community.”
