Two casinos in Las Vegas are seeking approval to join the new transport loop that will connect people travelling between venues.
US.- Two casinos are seeking approval to join Las Vegas’s loop transit system after The Boring Company completed a second tunnel under the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The Wynn Las Vegas and the Resorts World Las Vegas expect to get the green light from Clark County officials to become the first official stops on The Boring Company’s Las Vegas Convention Center transit loop, which will connect the convention center and casinos via an underground tunnel.
Elon Musk’s The Boring Company aims to be able to transport commuters from the Wynn and the Encore to the Convention Center in less than two minutes using Tesla vehicles.
Stevel Hill, CEO of Las Vegas Convention Center, said in a statement: “This is a great step to take this from the Convention Center campus out into the community. We’re talking to resorts throughout the community. It’s more than two that want to do this. These are the first two that make sense.”
A statement from Wynn said: “The connector is an important step for Wynn as the resort continues its investments in the future of eco-friendly meetings and conventions in Las Vegas.”
There is a huge expectation in the Sin City about the new “people mover” system to shuttle visitors, which would offer a more efficient way of travelling between Las Vegas venues. Costing US$52.5 million, the project is still scheduled to open in January 2021.
