Las Vegas airport reports passenger number drop in May

US.- Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport has reported 4.57 million passengers passing through in May. That’s a drop of 8.4 per cent year-over-year.
Domestic travel accounted for 4.2 million passengers, a decrease of 8.6 per cent, while international passenger numbers were down 5.7 per cent to 286,306. Among the top domestic carriers, Southwest passengers decreased 0.4 per cent year-over-year to 1.95 million and Delta 2.9 per cent to 463,303 while American Airlines passengers were up 2.2 per cent to 407,739.
Year-to-date passenger traffic stands at 21.5 million, down 6.2 per cent compared to the first five months of 2025. Domestic travel totalled 19.8 million, down 5.7 per cent, and international 1.3 million, down 12.8 per cent.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) reported that the state’s casinos generated $1.4bn in revenue in May. That’s a rise of 7.4 per cent from the same month in 2025 and up from $1.3bn in April 2026.
Clark County, which includes the Strip, downtown Las Vegas Strip, North Las Vegas, the Boulder Strip, and surrounding areas, generated $1.2bn, an increase of 7.4 per cent from the same month in 2025. The Las Vegas Strip generated $807.9m, up 13.2 per cent.
