Las Vegas visits increase in May

The city received 3.5 million visitors, up 2 per cent year-over-year.

US.- The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) has reported that 3.5 million people visited Las Vegas in May. That’s a rise of 2 per cent year-over-year and follows a decline in April.

The hotel occupancy rate for the month reached 84.7 per cent, up 1.7 points. Weekend occupancy was 91.9 per cent, up 2 points, and midweek occupancy was 80.7 per cent, up 1.4 points.

The LVCVA noted the impact of the the sold-out EDC 30th Anniversary and inaugural World Party Parade, four sold-out BTS Arirang concerts at Allegiant Stadium alongside the citywide BTS The City fan festival, and the Vegas Golden Knights Conference Finals.

Convention attendance was up 14.7 per cent year-over-year, with several new or rotating shows, such as the Sweets and Snacks Expo and CHAMPS Trade Show occurring alongside recurring shows such as Knowledge, ICSC Las Vegas, and Licensing International Expo.

June saw the opening of The Vanderpump Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.
