Kentucky sports betting revenue increases in June
Revenue was up 45.6 per cent year-over-year.
US.- Kentucky’s sports betting gross gaming revenue was $23m in June, up 45.6 per cent year-over-year. The handle was $174.8m, up 16.3 per cent.
According to the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation, operators reported a 13.2 per cent hold, the highest since February. Adjusted revenue was $22.6m, $3m less than the previous month. Tax revenue reached $3.2m, taking the year-to-date total to $21m.
Of the total handle, online sports betting accounted for $171.4m. Retail sportsbooks generated $323,000 of gross revenue from $3.4m in bet. Churchill Downs generated over half of that.
DraftKings led the online market with $8.9m in gross revenue from a $67.5m handle. FanDuel took $8.3m from a $53.8m handle and Fanatics Sportsbook $1.4m from $10.1m.
Circa Sports Kentucky held a soft opening of its new sportsbook at The Mint Gaming Hall Kentucky Downs in Franklin, in July. The 5,100-square-foot space will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 20 and a grand opening on August 23.
