The Four Winds Casino in South Bend has begun operating with a Class III licence, which allows the venue to offer further table games and slot machines.

US.- After a long-waited approval, the Four Winds Casino in South Bend has started operating an expanded gambling offering under its new Class III licence.

The venue, operated by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, had been working with a Class II licence since 2018 but has now received the state’s approval to offer Las Vegas-style gaming. The Four Winds Casino can now offer games like blackjack, roulette and slot machines.

According to tribal council chairman of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians Matthew Wesaw, the Class III licence will allow the venue to compete.

He told Inside Indiana Business: “If you look at the tables that we opened today, they were almost all full, they were almost all open. “We will now compete evenly with all of the other casinos. So that’s important.”

The tribe requested the expanded licence in 2019 but needed approval from the US Department of Interior, which arrived in early July this year.
