Steuben County shows interest in Indiana casino relocation discussions
The Steuben County Board of Commissioners recently showed interest in joining discussions on the relocation of casino licences in Indiana. The commissioners voted unanimously to formally indicate an openness to discussions after the Indiana Gaming Commission released casino land study results identifying preferred areas for possible casino relocation.
They cited the intersection of Interstate 69 and the Indiana Toll Road as a key logistical point for a casino development. The county previously saw discussion on the topic in 2007-08 when a licence holder from Gary, Indiana, considered a move to the area.
