Indiana to expand gambling
Tribal Four Winds Casino in Indiana could expand its gambling offering as it requested Governor Eric Holcomb for a new compact.
US.- The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi tribe of Indiana could soon expand its gambling offering. Chairman Matthew Wesaw asked the Governor, Eric Holcomb, to renegotiate the tribal-state compact to include new games.
Should they accomplish their goal, the Four Winds Casino in South Bend would improve its offering. The Indiana venue would add gambling options such as sports wagering and table games (eg. blackjack, roulette and baccarat).
The tribal chairman wrote a letter to Holcomb asking to offer Class III gaming at its South Bend casino. That would open up the casino for many different options such as slot machines, table games and sports wagering.
Sports betting
The sports betting industry continues to expand in the US, and Indiana is getting ready for it. As the segment could be legalised in a month, operators are preparing to launch once it finally arrives.
The Indiana Gaming Commission approved 13 locations in the state to run sports betting. Most casinos got their temporary licences, except for the Rising Star and the Gary riverboats. Furthermore, three off-track betting locations can run the segment.
Emergency regulations
The sports betting segment was legalised in Indiana in May, but regulations haven’t been outlined yet. However, state regulators hope to launch the business by September 1 and are hopeful that they will achieve it.
