Illinois reports record sports betting handle of $1.08bn for September
The handle was up nearly 30 per cent year-on-year.
US.- Illinois sportsbooks took a record $1.08bn in bets in September, up nearly 30 per cent year-on-year. Online sports betting grew 31 per cent to $1.02bn, while retail sportsbooks took $34.9m, up 2 per cent.
The Illinois Gaming Board reported that the state’s sportsbooks generated adjusted gross revenue of $86.2m, up 10 per cent compared to September 2022.
DraftKings reported a handle of $402.9m and revenue of $30.5m, while FanDuel reported $32.4m in revenue from $348.6m. BetRivers claimed the third-highest handle in September at $83m. Caesars and BetMGM completed the top five.
The state received more than $12.9m in taxes, pushing the total for the year to date to nearly $103.3m. That’s more than $26.2m ahead of last year’s pace through nine months.
