iGaming Ontario reports record July handle

The number of active accounts also hit a new high.

Canada.- iGaming Ontario has reported that Ontario’s regulated online market generated a record CA$9.88bn (US$7.1bn) in wagers in July, the highest monthly total since the market’s launch in April 2022. This total represents a rise of 4 per cent from June and 31 per cent from July 2025, exceeding the former record of CA$9.59bn set in March.

Non-adjusted gross gaming revenue (NAGGR) came in at CA$413.6m (US$299m), up 3 per cent from June and 33 per cent year-on-year. Only December 2025 (CA$425.6m) has been higher. Ontario’s 20 per cent tax cut reached CA$83m, taking tax collection for the first seven months of 2026 to CA$553m, from CA$2.76bn in NAGGR.

Slots, table games and peer-to-peer bingo generated CA$8.78bn in wagers, 6 per cent more than in June and 89 per cent of the market. Casino NAGGR was a record CA$330.4m, up 4 per cent month-on-month.

The handle from sports and other betting fell 4 per cent from June to CA$992m. NAGGR was CA$77.8m, up 47 per cent from July 2025. The peer-to-peer poker handle dropped 8 per cent to CA$116m, though poker NAGGR rose 3 per cent to CA$5.3m.

The number of active player accounts was 1.37 million, reflecting a 3 per cent increase since June and a 44 per cent rise compared to the same time last year. Average revenue per account was CA$303, unchanged from June but down 7.6 per cent from July 2025.

Forty-eight licensed operators were live across 83 sites after DAZN Bet launched on June 30 and Hard Rock Bet on July 22. The unaudited figures do not include OLG’s online offer or pari-mutuel horseracing.
