iGaming Ontario reports 30% rise in June handle
June saw the highest fifth-highest monthly figure since the market’s debut in April 2022.
Canada.- iGaming Ontario has reported that Ontario’s legal online betting market brought in CA$9.46bn in wagers in June. That’s a 30.3 per cent rise year-on-year and the fifth-highest monthly figure since the market’s debut in April 2022. At CA$400.6m (US$285.8m), non-adjusted gross gaming revenue increased 30.6 per cent year over year,
The sports handle was CA$1.03bn, up 34.5 per cent from June 2025 and 6 per cent from May, aided by FIDA World Cup betting. Operators generated CA$78.6m in sports betting revenue, a 34.4 per cent year-on-year. Online casinos saw a handle of CA$8.30bn, the third-highest on record only surpassed by March and May of this year.
The number of active player accounts in June was 1.32 million, a 30 per cent increase from the previous year. On average, each active account generated CA$304 in revenue. The province collected CA$80m in tax.
