Holland Casino starts Utrecht facility
Holland Casino held a ceremony to lad the first stone of the new facility, to be located in Utrecht and expected to open in 2021.
Netherlands.- Holland Casino is expanding its reach in the Netherlands, this time by starting the work for a venue in Utrecht. The facility is expected to open in early 2021 in the fourth-largest city in the Netherlands.
City councillors from Utrecht were part of the ceremony, along with Holland Casino CEO Erwin van Lambaart. The Utrecht facility will open in early 2021, and the CEO says that it will be “a unique place to go out with a unique concept and design, for a unique city.”
The new casino in Utrecht fits in with Holland Casino’s innovation strategy, in which four new contemporary casinos are opened in four years: Amsterdam West-Sloterdijk and Groningen in 2018, Utrecht and Venlo in 2020/2021.
The casino, to be located on Winthontlaan, will feature 40 gaming tables and 700 slot machines. The venue, which will employ over 350 people, will also feature two restaurants and three bars. The location will also offer up to 600 parking spots.
“The new casino will give Utrecht and the central part of the Netherlands a spectacular nightlife opportunity. It will be full of innovative game selection, entertainment and the latest concepts in food and beverage. It will also have our own-developed Entertainment Zone. A casino for all generations,” said the CEO van Laambart.
Holland Casino reports revenue increase in H1
Holland Casino indicated 12% increase in revenue in H1. An increase in the number of visitors helped the Dutch gambling monopoly register the positive financial results in H1.
The company registered that during the six month period it totalled €354 million in revenue. The figure is €38 million higher than what Holland Casino reported in revenues in the first six-month period of 2018.
Holland Casino attributes the increase in revenue to a rise in visitation numbers, which rose 9% year-on-year. This was mainly because Holland Casino reopened a number of facilities in Groningen and Amsterdam West-Sloterdijk.
