Henderson Planning Commission approves Emerald Island Casino expansion
The casino wants to add 14,500 square feet.
US.- The Henderson Planning Commission has approved a conditional use permit and design review for the expansion of Emerald Island Casino in Henderson’s Water District, in Nevada.
According to Las Vegas Review-Journal, commissioners approved the expansion proposal in four minutes. The casino requested permission to add 14,500 square feet and do exterior remodeling.
The proposal, submitted by owner Ronald Winchell, includes the integration of covered outdoor patios, planters for landscaping and sitting areas, an exterior remodeling of the building and the addition of canopies and awnings at entries. Winchell also proposed that Henderson vacate a small portion of Navy Street for a parking lot with 133 spaces.

The Henderson City Council will consider final approval on November 4.
In 2024, Emerald Island Casino and its sister property Rainbow Club Casino were sold by Tim and Mike Brooks to ECL Water Street, a company formed by Winchell and Marc Falcone.
