Harrah’s Resort launches sports betting service
The Atlantic City venue became the fourth to offer sports wagering in New Jersey after PASPA got revoked.
US.- New Jersey played a key role in the legalisation of sports betting in the US as it was involved in the lawsuit that saw PASPA get revoked and the segment free from anything other than each state’s legislation. That’s why it’s not strange to see Atlantic City opening its fourth sportsbook since the ruling of the Supreme Court as Harrah’s Resort started offering sports gambling last Wednesday.
The sports book was inaugurated by Alan and Carol Kallman, of Monroe Township, Middlesex County, who placed a US$25 bet on the Bronx Bombers to win baseball’s 2018 World Series.
The temporary sports book has Harrah’s turning into Caesars Entertainment Corp.’s second casino accepting wagers in Atlantic City, the first being Bally’s Wild Wild West casino, whose sports book kicked off on Monday. Nonetheless, it’s the fourth venue overall in the area as the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa was the first, followed by Ocean Resort Casino, which joined in thanks to a partnership with William Hill.
According to Mark Frissora, president and CEO of Caesars Entertainment, the company expects to “quickly introduce” mobile and online sports betting in the state. However, for now it has to contempt with its newly opened sportsbook, which features 32 leather chairs, five screens and six hightop tables in a lounge area just off the casino floor.
