Scientific Games wins German lottery deal
Scientific Games has gained another lottery contract in Germany with existing partner LOTTO Thüringen.
Germany.- Lottery supplier Scientific Games has won a new three-year contract to provide instant games to existing partner LOTTO Thüringen in central Germany.
The US company won the competitive procurement process and plans to launch the new games in 2021. There is an option to extend the three-year contract by another year.
LOTTO Thüringen CEO, Jochen Staschewski, said: “We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with Scientific Games and the sustainable growth of instant game revenues in Thuringia.
“This is one of the few lottery markets in Germany that continues to grow. Our growth is largely driven by instant products; therefore, we plan to further develop our portfolio of instant games sold at retail as well as offer our players digital instant games to enjoy at home and via mobile.”
John Schulz, Scientific Games Senior VP of Instant Products, said: “We have offered LOTTO Thüringen instant game products with value adds that have proven ability to responsibly increase revenue for our lottery customers.”
The contract is Las Vegas-headquartered Scientific Games’ lastest German lottery deal following a new deal with the LOTTO Bayern at the end of April.
It serves all 16 of Germany’s regional lotteries and has worked with LOTTO Thüringen for more than a decade. Scientific Games suffered a 13 per cent fall in revenue in the first quarter of the year to US$725million (€670million) as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Last month, Scientific Games named Rich Schneider as its new CPO.
