Florida Gaming Control Commission seizes more than 200 illegal gaming machines

The FGCC has participated in enforcement action against three businesses in northeast Florida.

US.- Authorities have seized more than 230 unlicensed slot machines from three venues in northeast Florida. The Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) assisted the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in an operation named “Funny Money.”

Authorities also seized 23 fish tables, digital media and related equipment. The regulator said all seized machines were transported to an FGCC storage facility for evidentiary purposes.

Florida Gaming Control Commission executive director Alana Zimmer said: “The Florida Gaming Control Commission welcomes the opportunity to partner with our federal and local partners to stem illegal gambling in our state. We will take the vital, necessary steps to shut down illegal casinos that are popping up across Florida. Our agents are constantly working to permanently close the doors of illegal gambling establishments, and we appreciate the collaboration with our federal partners.”

Last month, the FGCC and the Port Orange Police Department removed illegal gambling machines from three businesses. The FGCC confiscated 20 slot and two coin pusher machines, while the Port Orange Police Department seized $25,659 in cash.
