DraftKings to cease on-site sportsbook operations at Wrigley Field
In-person sports betting will no longer be offered at the Chicago venue.
US.- DraftKings has decided to discontinue onsite sportsbook operations at DraftKings Sportsbook at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois. The company said the decision follows a review of its Illinois retail presence.
The venue will remain open, but in-person sports betting will no longer be offered. The last day to place in-person bets is on May 31.
The sportsbook opened in March 2024 on the corner of Addison Street and Sheffield Avenue at the southeast corner of Wrigley Field. The sportsbook has 32 betting kiosks, seven over-the-counter betting windows and a more than 2,000-square-foot video screen.
For the three months ended March 31, DraftKings reported revenue of $1.65bn, up 17 per cent year-over-year. The increase was ascribed to customer acquisition and engagement as well as a higher sportsbook net revenue margin.
