Detroit casino revenue up 9.3% month-on-month but below 2019 levels
Revenue from Detroit’s three casinos totalled $116.9m in July, up 9.3 per cent month-on-month but down from $119m in July 2019.
US.- Detroit’s three casinos reached $116.9m in aggregate revenue in July. That’s 9.3 per cent higher than June 2021 but below July 1019’s $119m. The figure can’t be compared with July 2020 as the segment was shut due to Covid-19.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board reported that table games and slots generated $115.7m and retail sports betting $1.2m.
The top performer was MGM Grand Detroit, which generated $53.8m, followed by MotorCity Casino Hotel at $38.5m and Greektown Casino‘s $23.4m. The market share was split 46 per cent, 34 per cent and 20 per cent respectively.
The industry contributed $9.4m in gaming taxes to the state in July, plus $13.8m in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the city.
