Detroit casino revenue increases in October
Revenue increased 4.4 per cent year-over-year and 8.6 per cent from September.
US.- The Michigan Gaming Control Board has reported that MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown collectively generated $107.4m in revenue in October. That’s a rise of 4.4 per cent year-over-year and 8.6 per cent from September 2025.
Of the total revenue, table games and slot machines accounted for $105.9m, an increase of 2.2 per cent year-over-year and 7.9 per cent from September 2025. Retail sports betting contributed $1.5m.
MGM Grand Detroit Casino accounted for 49 per cent of the market share with revenue of $52.7m, up 6.6 per cent, MotorCity Casino 29 per cent ($30.5m, down 3.8 per cent), and Hollywood Casino at Greektown 22 per cent ($22.7m, an increase of 0.8 per cent).
The three casinos paid $8.6m in state gaming taxes, up from $8.4m in the same month in 2024. They also submitted $13.1m in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.
The casinos reported a combined retail sports betting handle of $13.5m, generating $1.6m in gross receipts. Qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) from retail sports betting increased $2.4m from the same period in 2024 and $794,016 from September 2025.
The casinos paid $58,266 in state taxes from retail sports betting revenue and submitted $71,215 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit.
MGCB recently approved licence renewals for Detroit’s three commercial casinos. The annual approval follows a review of each casino’s operations, regulatory compliance and commitment to responsible gaming practices.
