Delaware sports betting revenue reaches $1.7m
Sports betting figures showed an improvement after a disappointing December 2020.
US.- Sports betting revenues reached $1.7m in Delaware in January, an increase of 13.3 per cent when compared with January 2020.
Last month’s revenue was also 54.6 per cent higher than the $1.1m taken in December 2020, when tight Covid-19 restrictions remained in place.
Before the tighter restrictions were introduced, sports betting in the state was showing consistent signs of recovery.
The sports betting handle also rose in January as restrictions were lifted. Bettors wagered $11.7m, 28.6 per cent more than the $9.1m wagered in December.
Delaware Park takes top spot
Delaware Park took the largest revenues at $990,649, derived from a handle of $6.8m. Harrington Raceway followed, earning $403,584 from a handle of $2.6m.
Dover Downs came in third place, with $330,183 in revenue from $2.2m in wagers.
Although online sports betting is legal in the state, at present there is no online operator, meaning all sports betting takes place at Delaware’s land-based casinos.
