Delaware sports betting down in December
Sports betting in Delaware showed significant month-over-month decreases in December when tighter coronavirus restrictions were implemented.
US.- The last month of 2020 was disappointing for those in the Delaware sports betting market, as handle and revenue plummeted once again.
Total sports betting handle in December was $15.7m, down 19.5 per cent from November and 23.3 per cent from December 2019 when $20.5m was placed in bets.
Revenues also were on the decline last month with sportsbooks and sports lottery retailers making $3.1m, a 47.5 per cent decrease from $5.9m made in November.
But revenues did show a year-over-year improvement of 4.2 per cent on December 2019 when retailers generated just $3m.
The month-over-month losses follow the implementation of stricter coronavirus restrictions in the state that came into force on December 14.
Before the tighter restrictions, sports betting in the state was showing consistent signs of recovery.
