Delaware sports betting handle totals $4.2m in April
The state reported a decline in its sports betting handle and revenue.
US.- Delaware’s sports betting handle was $4.2m in April, down 19.2 per cent from $5.2m in March. It was also down 23.6 per cent from $5.5m in the same month in 2021 to its lowest since $4.1m was bet in July 2021.
Revenue for April reached $314,336, which down 64.5 per cent from July’s $895,299 and also down from March’s $553,465.
In April, Delaware Park posted $151,674 in revenue from $2.1m in wagers. Dover Downs registered $95,059 in revenue and a handle of $1.2m, while the Harrington Raceway reported $67,603 in revenue from $853,005 in wagers. Players placed 142,465 bets and won $3.8m.
Delaware sports betting revenue for 2021 was $11.2m, a year-on-year rise of 34.4 pwr cent. Despite the rise, revenue was 9.9 per cent less than in 2019.
The total amount wagered was $89m, a 54.4 per cent increase from $57.6m in 2020. The number of wagers was 2.2 million, a yearly increase of 73 per cent.
