Danish gambling revenue rebounds

Gaming revenue in Denmark returned to growth in November after a dip the previous month.

Denmark.- Figures from the gambling regulator Spillemyndigheden show that the Danish gambling spend increased in November 2025 compared with November 2024. The regulators latest monthly statistics show that sports betting and online casino in particular saw a large increase in spending.

Danish gambling revenue increased by 17.1 per cent compared to November 2024. That’s a return to growth after a year-on-year dip of 3.4 per cent in October. Online casino and betting contributed increases of 27 per cent and 14 per cent, respectively, while gaming machines saw a fall of 1.4 per cent and land-based casino a fall of 3.4 per cent compared to the same month in 2024.

Sports betting revenue hit DKK 265m (€35.6m) following a drop of 46 per cent year-on-year to DKK 112m the previous month. Together with online casino revenue, remote gaming overall generated DKK 767m. Meanwhile, revenue from land-based gaming machines slipped to DKK 95m and land-based casino revenue was DKK 30m.

The decline in Danish gambling revenue in October had sparked warnings about new gambling advertising restrictions in Denmark to be implemented by 2027. However, the latest report suggests that the poor numbers may have been a blip.

Spillemyndigheden’s The monthly statistics also includes figures for the Danish register of self-excluded players ROFUS and the helpline StopSpillet. There were 67,107 people registered with ROFUS at the end of November, up from 55,899 a year earlier. Some 43,620 people were registered permanently. Some 4,017 StopSpillet conversations were logged.
