US.- The Colorado Senate has approved Senate Bill 131 in a 20-15 vote on the closing days of the 2026 session. The bill, which would creates certain requirements and prohibitions related to sports betting, has been sent to Governor Jared Polis, who has 30 days to sign it into law, veto it, or let it take effect without his signature.

The bill would prohibit credit card deposits for betting and limits how often bettors can add money to their accounts per day. It would also prohibit sports betting operators or marketing affiliates from targeting advertising at under 21s.

Jamie Glick, executive director of the Problem Gambling Coalition of Colorado, said he was in favour of the credit ban, seeing the ability to gamble on credit as one of the largest risk factors. He said he was “neutral” on other aspects of the bill.
