Shearish Keliiholokai named as general manager of Rosie’s Gaming Emporium in Virginia

She replaces Jeremy Callahan, who becomes general manager of the soon-to-open Roseshire Gaming Parlor.

US.- Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) has named Shearish Keliiholokai as general manager of Rosie’s Gaming Emporium in Emporia, Virginia. She began her career at CDI in 2019 and replaces Jeremy Callahan, who will be general manager of the soon-to-open Roseshire Gaming Parlor in Henrico County.

Keliiholokai began at CDI as cage/player services manager in Richmond and New Kent, and then she served as gaming operations manager at Colonial Downs & Rosie’s New Kent, and later director of gaming operations at Colonial Downs and Rosie’s Richmond.

“In each of these roles, Shear has demonstrated outstanding leadership, operational expertise and a deep commitment to her teams. She has consistently focused on guest experience, team engagement and creating a culture of growth and opportunity,” CDI said.

Rosie’s Emporia opened in 2023 offering live simulcast horseracing wagering and 150 historical racing machines (HRMs.) The venue 21,000-square-foot venue employs nearly 90 people.

Virginia casino revenue increases year-over-year in July

The Virginia Lottery reported that state gaming revenues totalled $84.7m in July up 42.8 per cent year-over-year. Slots generated $62m and table games $22.7m.

Caesars Virginia reported $35m in adjusted gross gaming revenue (AGR), with $24.6m from slot machines and $10.5m from table games. Rivers Casino Portsmouth’s AGR was $26.8m, with $18.8m from slots and $7.9m from table games, and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol posted $23m in AGR, $18.7m from slot machines and $4.2m from table games.
