Aggregate lottery sales during the first eight months of 2017 increased 6.3 percent to US$41.3 billion, with welfare and sports lottery sales increasing 4.6 and 8.1 percent respectively. The money from lottery tickets cover public welfare projects, as well as prize money.
Back in July, it was reported that SF Lottery is preparing a unique instant scratch game to enhance its portfolio. The new SF Lottery game will only be offered in the provinces of Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hunan and Jiangxi, and it was already approved by the Ministry of Finance, which also highlighted that Guangdong and Jiangsu have been generating a distinguished amount of lottery revenue. Both provinces have ranked first and second in terms of sports lottery sales volumes last year.
