Catawba Nation plans two additional casinos in North Carolina

Chief Brian Harris made the announcement during a ceremony for the first phase of Catawba Two Kings Casino.

US.- The Catawba Nation has identified potential sites for two additional casinos in North Carolina, chief Brian Harris said, although he’s not saying where. He made the announcement during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the first phase of Catawba Two Kings Casino in Kings Mountain but declined to identify the sites when asked by media.

“I can’t tell you that right now,” he said, The Charlotte Observer reports. “It’s all about negotiations. We’ve identified the locations. We’re in preliminary negotiations right now. And once those come to fruition, when we come to deal, we’ll make an announcement.”

More than 500 tribal members, partners, and guests participated in the event. Located off Interstate 85 at Exit 5, the casino is operating with 1,350 slot machines, 22 table games, a restaurant, bar and sports betting kiosks. The main casino complex is scheduled to open in spring 2027 spanning 2 million square feet. It will have 4,300 slot machines and 100 table games as well as 11 restaurants, a players’ lounge, 11 bars and 3,500 parking spaces.
