Casinos set good path in Nevada
The casino industry in Nevada keeps reporting positive results, this time led by craps.
US.- Nevada casinos located mostly in the biggest gaming hub in the world, Las Vegas, keep announcing good results. According to an official report released by authorities, gaming operators have reached US$26.4 million from their craps tables in September. The results were based on official documents by local casinos.
Revenue was 41.7 percent higher year-over-year, with a 17 percent hold off the bets for the Strip-area casinos. Since July, craps revenue of US$77 million was up 28.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
However, poker hasn’t been what it used to be for a couple of years now and operators are looking for alternatives to make the segment more appealing to players. Over the last five months, Nevada’s cash game poker market has been on a winning streak and has had the best September since 2013, after poker rooms collected US$8.7 million.
In September 2013, Nevada had 80 rooms with a total 755 tables and raked US$8.9 million. This year, Nevada reached US$8.7 million with just 62 poker rooms and a total 598 tables, according to data compiled by the University of Nevada Las Vegas’ Center for Gaming Research. It’s still far from the US$12.6 million recorded in 2006 but is still great news for pokies in the state.
