The company revealed that the Dutch gaming regulator fined its Corona subsidiary.

Netherlands.- Betsson Group has revealed that Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the Dutch gaming regulator, has hit its Corona Ltd subsidiary with a €300k penalty for allowing players in the Netherlands to use its services without holding a local licence.

Corona was fined €300k for the infractions on the Orange and Kroon online casino brands. The company said that it is currently assessing the judgement and considering a possible appeal to the KSA penalty.

Pontus Lindwall, chief executive officer of Betsson AB, said: “Betsson shares KSA’s ambition to achieve a high channelisation of customers into any future locally regulated environment in the Netherlands and supports the Dutch Government’s ambition in moving forward with the legislative process.”

The group also said that other subsidiaries were subject to investigations from KSA but that the regulator established that there were no violations with regard to them and therefore no fines were imposed.
