Betfred Sports to launch sportsbook in Arizona
Its retail sportsbook will open at the new We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort.
US.- Betfred Sports and the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort, owned by the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, have signed an agreement to run a sportsbook in Arizona.
The companies will build a retail sportsbook at the recently opened We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort. They plan to launch mobile and online betting under the Betfred Sports brand.
Bernadine Burnette, president of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation said: “The partnership announcement with Betfred Sports marks a new chapter for We-Ko-Pa.
“We are excited about the prospect of sports betting in Arizona, and are thrilled to pursue an event wagering license to allow us to offer sports betting to our retail and digital customers”.
Mark Stebbings, Betfred Group COO, said: “Arizona is an amazing opportunity for Betfred Sports to continue its expansion in the US after successful launches in Iowa, Colorado and Pennsylvania”.
Arizona legalised sports betting at tribal casinos in May. Under the legislation, Arizona’s tribal casinos will be allowed to offer sports betting as well as fantasy sports.
