Betfred exits the US
The operator will cease operations with Wind Creek Bethlehem in Pennsylvania tomorrow.
US.- Betfred is exiting the US online sports betting market as it ceases operations in Pennsylvania. Its casino partner, Wind Creek Bethlehem, said Betfred stopped accepting bets on July 3 and will close operations tomorrow (July 31).
It said all wagers settled on or before July 31 would be handled as usual. Any stake and/or winnings eligible will be credited to players’ accounts for withdrawal.
The company had already exited the other US states where it had a presence: Arizona, Colorado, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia and Nevada in January.
Pennsylvania gaming revenue increases year-over-year in June
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) reported that combined revenue generated by all forms of gaming and fantasy contests was $544.6m in June, up 15.4 per cent year-over-year but down 9.5 per cent from May.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course reported $96.3m in revenue, up 30 per cent year-over year. Valley Forge Casino Resort reported $93.4m, up 46.3 per cent, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia $53.4m, up 12.2 per cent.
