Bet365 receives approval for online sports betting licence in Colorado
Bet365 has partnered with Century Casino to offer sports betting in the state.
US.- The Limited Gaming Control Commission (LGCC) has approved Bet365 to offer online sports betting in Colorado. The licence was approved unanimously and without any public debate.
Bet365 will launch in the state in partnership with Century Casino, which has also signed agreements with Tipico Sportsbook and Circa. The company will operate an Internet and mobile sports betting application under the Bet365 brand.
Bet365 was approved with a temporary licence, which is the standard for new operators in the state. The gaming operator may be granted a full operating licence after the state performs a background investigation.
Colorado is the second US state to grant Bet365 operating rights. New Jersey was the first to approve a licence to the company.
In October, Colorado sports betting handle hit record. It reported $491.5m in wagers and $28.6m in revenue.
According to the Colorado Department of Revenue’s Gaming Division, the figure represented a 20.4 per cent rise from September’s $408.3m, the previous state record. It was also up 133.2 per cent compared to October 2020 ($210.7m).
